Adler Archer, JD, spoke at Johns Hopkins University's kick-off for Realizing Our Promise: The Second JHU Roadmap on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion on March 11, 2022. In the afternoon program, Adler explored the convergence of systems thinking and DEI alongside leaders in the field.

The morning session featured university leadership sharing their commitment to advancing the Roadmap over the next five years, a keynote by Dr. Freeman Hrabowski, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, a plan reveal, and an overview of investments and timeline. The afternoon featured Summer Lopez (Pen America) on pluralism on campus; Dr. Scott E. Page (University of Michigan) on the case for diversity; Dr. KerryAnn O'Meara on design thinking and DEI; and Dr. Adler Archer on the convergence of systems thinking and DEI. The session included breakout opportunities for participants to learn more about specific DEI topics at JHU and concluded with a celebration.
