Nexus Harbor

A year-round convening across three continents

Nexus Harbor is a year-round convening from the Adler Archer Laboratory at Johns Hopkins CBID, where the people who build, fund, govern, and implement community-centered health innovation meet across three continents.

What Nexus Harbor is

A deliberately mixed room. The value is the relationships that form when people who would never share a table are placed at the same one, on purpose. The organizing question is how health systems detect, decide, deliver, and stay trustworthy. Artificial intelligence is the enabling layer, never the subject.

The 3DG framework

Detect, Decide, and Deliver are sequential stages of one health-system lifecycle. Govern is a cross-cutting band that touches all three, not a fourth step.

  1. Detect

Surveillance, outbreak prediction, population monitoring, and early warning.

  2. Decide

Clinical decision support, triage, workforce augmentation, and resource allocation.

  3. Deliver

Care delivery, operations, access, cost, and health-system management.

Govern

Data sovereignty, trust, community ownership, and security. Govern runs beneath all three stages.

Applied social determinants of health (SDOH) innovation sits in that lifecycle: the conditions outside the clinic are where detection starts, decisions land, and delivery succeeds or fails.

One ecosystem, six ways in

We are not building six products. We are building one ecosystem that serves six functions across the year, each stage feeding the next.

  1. Monthly

    Huddles

    Discover people and problems.

  2. Quarterly

    Salons

    Develop the important ideas.

  3. Annual

    Summit

    Bring the ecosystem together.

  4. Cohorts

    Studio

    Build capability.

  5. Post-Summit

    Labs

    Turn ideas into projects.

  6. Continuous

    Exchange

    Sustain the relationships.

Each stage produces the input for the next: Huddles, Salons, Summit, Studio, Labs, Exchange.

The framework is the room logic

  1. 01

The whole room hears Detect, Decide, and Deliver together.

  2. 02

Working sessions partition into parallel stage rooms. Each room is a mixed working group.

  3. 03

The room reconvenes to govern every track's output together.

Questions

Nexus Harbor, in brief

  1. What is Nexus Harbor?

Nexus Harbor is a year-round convening from the Adler Archer Laboratory at Johns Hopkins CBID. The people who build, fund, govern, and implement community-centered health innovation meet across three continents. It is one ecosystem, not a single conference.

  2. What is the 3DG framework?

Detect, Decide, and Deliver are sequential stages of one health-system lifecycle. Govern is a cross-cutting band that touches all three, not a fourth step. Artificial intelligence is the enabling layer, never the subject.

  3. How does 3DG connect to applied SDOH innovation?

Applied social determinants of health (SDOH) innovation lives in the conditions outside the clinic. That is where detection starts, where decisions land, and where delivery succeeds or fails. Nexus Harbor uses the 3DG framework to keep those conditions in the room.

  4. What are Huddles, Salons, and the Summit?

Huddles are monthly virtual conversations that discover people and problems. Salons are quarterly small rooms that develop the important ideas. The Summit is the annual gathering that brings the ecosystem together, and each stage feeds the next.

  5. How can I join?

Start with a Huddle. They are virtual, about 60 minutes, and hosted by Adler Archer and the Adler Archer Laboratory. Dates for the 2027 series will be announced on the Huddles page.
