Nexus Huddles
Virtual · about 60 minutes · 2027 dates to be announced
Nexus Huddles are monthly virtual conversations hosted by Adler Archer and the Adler Archer Laboratory at Johns Hopkins CBID. Each Huddle surfaces the people and problems that feed the Salons and the annual Nexus Harbor Summit.
The October 2026 Huddle on AI in Healthcare launched the series. There is no Huddle in May 2027, because that month is the Summit. Dates for the 2027 series will be announced.

Detect
Signals outside the clinic: AI and early warning for the social determinants of health
Detection starts in housing, work, food, and neighborhood conditions, not only inside a clinic. This Huddle asks which early-warning signals artificial intelligence can responsibly see, and which ones a community should refuse to share.

Decide
Decision support under scarcity: who decides when resources are thin
When resources are thin, a decision-support tool is also a decision about who waits. This Huddle looks at triage, workforce augmentation, and allocation with the people who live with the result.

Deliver
Care where people live: delivery and interoperability beyond the hospital
Delivery fails when it stops at the hospital door. This Huddle takes up care, operations, access, and cost in the places people actually live, and what interoperability has to mean there.

Govern
Data sovereignty and community ownership in health AI
Govern runs beneath every stage rather than arriving as a fourth step. This Huddle focuses on data sovereignty, trust, community ownership, and security in health AI.

After the Summit: what the room decided and what goes to Labs

Detect
Housing, food, and income as health data: what AI can and should see
The conditions outside the clinic are already data, whether or not a model is allowed to use them. This Huddle asks what artificial intelligence can see in housing, food, and income, and what it should not.
-
August 2027 · Virtual · about 60 minutes · Dates to be announced
Decide
Authority and allocation: when algorithms set priorities for communities
An algorithm that sets priorities is exercising authority. This Huddle examines who remains accountable when decision support starts ranking communities.
-
September 2027 · Virtual · about 60 minutes · Dates to be announced
Deliver
From pilot to owned asset: health innovations that outlast the grant
A pilot that ends with the grant did not deliver. This Huddle looks at how a health innovation becomes an asset a community can own, operate, and keep.
-
October 2027 · Virtual · about 60 minutes · Dates to be announced
Govern
Superintelligence and public health: governing systems smarter than their stewards
Systems smarter than their stewards change what governance can mean. This Huddle asks how public health stays trustworthy when the tools outpace the people meant to govern them.
-
November 2027 · Virtual · about 60 minutes · Dates to be announced
Detect and Decide
Military and civilian readiness: lessons for community health systems
