Romullo Ataides, MD, a 2025 AI Fellow in the Adler Archer Laboratory at the Bloomberg School of Public Health, received recognition from Johns Hopkins University for outstanding service and exceptional performance through University Experiential Learning | Student Employment 2026.

In a post on LinkedIn, Ataides shared that the recognition means a great deal to him. Being able to learn, contribute, and grow in an environment closely connected to service and impact has been incredibly meaningful.

He thanked his mentor, Mimi Canto, colleagues, and peers who have been part of the journey. Balancing academics, work, and everything else has been very challenging, but also very rewarding. Moments like this, he wrote, remind him why he cares so much about public health and doing work that makes a difference.

“I am very grateful to be part of this institution and pleased to contribute to its progress,” Ataides said. “Feeling grateful, humbled, and motivated for what comes next. Protecting health, saving lives—millions at a time.”
