Adler Archer, JD, was among 102 scholars across Johns Hopkins' nine academic divisions selected for the inaugural Nexus Awards program, as reported by the Johns Hopkins Hub. Adler is a co-lead on The Nexus of NeuroTech Translation and Inclusive Innovation, a convening award to be hosted at 555 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, DC.

Forty D.C.-based projects and programs were selected to receive funding support from the university's Nexus Awards program, anchoring work at Johns Hopkins' new home in the nation's capital. Funding began July 1, 2023, coinciding with the relocation of the university's D.C.-based academic programs to 555 Pennsylvania Avenue NW.

Convening awards provide up to $100,000 for up to one year to develop and execute a conference or series of related events at 555 Penn. Adler's project team includes Sri Sarma (Whiting School of Engineering), Santosh Venkatesha (WSE), and Debra Mathews (Berman Institute of Bioethics).

President Ron Daniels said the inaugural Nexus awardees would “bring exceptional creativity, innovation, and energy” to the university's D.C. home and ensure faculty insights inform society's approach to its greatest challenges. Vice Provost for Interdisciplinary Initiatives Lainie Rutkow noted the awardees would help establish a dynamic portal connecting Baltimore and D.C.-based efforts.
